Dual airbags now available with the Mahindra Bolero

Indian automotive giant Mahindra has officially introduced dual airbags on its iconic Bolero SUV for the 2022 model year. Mahindra introduced the refreshed and updated Bolero back in 2020. Now the brand has given the popular SUV yet another update but in the safety department. Mahindra offers the Bolero SUV in three distinct variants – B4, B6, and B6(O) with a BS6-compliant diesel powertrain. With the introduction of the passenger-side airbag, the 2022 Bolero now sports the latest standard safety features for pedestrians and passengers and has also become slightly expensive. 

2022 Mahindra Bolero: Price 

The Mahindra Bolero now comes with a starting price tag of INR 8.85 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The mid-spec B6 variant comes with a sticker price of INR 9.62 lakh ex-showroom. While the top-of-the-line B6 OPT variant comes with a price tag of INR 9.86 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The Bolero comes with a 7-seat option and 2 wheel-drive a standard. 

2022 Mahindra Bolero: Design Details 

The 2022 Bolero retains its timeless yet iconic boxy styling with several new exterior and interior updates and elements. At the front, the SUV features a refreshed X-shaped bumper and round fog lamps with black inserts for a dominating presence. The Bolero also gets an updated front grille, stylish body decals, clear-lens taillamps, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel cover. Mahindra offers the Bolero with 3 colour options – Diamond White, Lakeside Brown and Dsat Silver along with Premium Dual-Tone interior upholstery.

2022 Mahindra Bolero: Technical Specs & Features 

Powering the refreshed Bolero is a 1.5-litre, mHawk75 diesel powertrain, which develops 75 PS and 210 Nm. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Bolero’s engine also gets Automatic Engine Start/Stop functionality across all variants. With a ladder-on-frame chassis construction, the Bolero sports 7 seats along with a variety of safety and technological features. These include an anti-lock braking system, a co-driver occupant detection system, and a seat belt reminder for drivers and passengers.

Additionally, the SUV also sports reverse parking sensors, a rear washer with a wiper, and a driver information system for convenience. For the interior, Mahindra has equipped the Bolero with a music system with USB, AUX, and Bluetooth functionality. It also gets a wood finish with a centre bezel, cornering headlamps with static bending technology, and integrated LED DRLs. Mahindra has ensured to offer all the aforementioned safety features as standard across all variants of the 2022 Bolero SUV.

Recently, Mahindra has been spotted testing the electric version of the XUV300 SUV, expected to launch in 2023. Enthusiasts leaked the unofficial images of the electric SUV that showcases a silhouette that matches the eXUV300 concept. According to sources and reports, the eXUV300 will feature a 40 kWh battery with an expected range of 280 Km. The electric SUV will sport Mahindra’s MESMA (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) 350 platform, becoming the brand’s first EV.
