BMW India has added a new variant to its 2 Series Gran Coupe lineup. This is the M Sport Pro which will retail with a price tag of INR 45.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The M Sport Pro will position itself between the 220i M Sport and 220d M Sport trims. Customers can have this variant only with a turbo petrol engine. Compared to the 220i M Sport, the M Sport Pro retails at about INR 2 lakh more. All in all, the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Sport Pro brings in more style and performance for the driving enthusiast customers.
What Are The Changes?
The BMW 220i M Sport Pro brings a slew of new features to the model. This includes the likes of BMW gesture control, a head-up display, and a powerful 205-watt 10-speaker sound system. The interior design too benefits from some upgrades such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, M-specific Anthracite roof lining with black stitching, contrast finish dashboard, paddle shifters, and illuminated Boston trim finishers.
In addition to this, we also find the M badging at specific places inside the cabin. All in all, these additions further increase the style and functionality quotient of the BMW 220i M Sport Pro.
Engine And Mechanicals
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Sport Pro continues with the reliable and proven 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine makes 189 BHP of power and 280 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is mated to a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, with power channelled to the front wheels. The model also benefits from advanced features such as launch control and a shift-by-wire gear selector. These further add to the performance capabilities of the coupe.
Safety Features On Offer
Talking of the safety features, there’s a lot happening here as well. This includes six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, traction control, ABS with CBC ISOFIX child seat anchor mounts, DSC, TPMS, and more.
Rival Options
According to BMW, the 2 Series Gran Coupe petrol variant comes with an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 14.82 kmpl. Meanwhile, for diesel, the claimed figure is 18.64 kmpl. The 2 Series Gran Coupe locks its horns with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class in the segment.
