The famous Italian marque, Pagani, has taken the wraps off its all-new hypercar, Utopia. The new hypercar is only the third model in the brand’s history, after the Zonda and the Huayra. It is the successor of the Huayra, and Pagani will only make 99 units of the Utopia hypercar. However, like the Huayra, the Utopia retains its focus on aerodynamics.
2023 Pagani Utopia – Highlights
Pagani says it took the brand 6 years to perfect the design of the Utopia. Compared to the Huayra, it looks much more muted and has an overall softer look. At the front, the Utopia gets a refreshed nose, and it ditches the bonnet air flaps from the Huayra. The fluid design continues from the front to the sides and ends at the rear of the hypercar. At the back, it gets the rocket-booster central exhausts and raised rear wings. There’s also a bridge spoiler that connects the two rear wings. The taillights are new as well and look like they are floating mid-air.
On the inside, there are a few bits that it borrows from the Huayra as well as a few new bits. The former includes dual circular instrument gauges and four ventilation pods on top of the dashboard. However, what might seem like taking a step back, the Utopia ditches the Huayra’s central touchscreen. Instead, it uses a large digital driver’s display between the dual circular instrument gauges.
2023 Pagani Utopia – Technical Specifications
Powering the Pagani Utopia is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG. The engine is the same as the Huayra. However, in the Utopia, it makes 864 PS and 1,100 Nm of torque. Furthermore, unlike its predecessor, which used a 7-speed single-clutch automatic, it gets an all-new transmission. The Utopia uses a new, lighter 7-speed gated manual transmission.
However, Pagani will also offer the 7-speed single-clutch automatic transmission as an option. The brand did not move to a dual-clutch automatic to save weight, and they did. The Utopia weighs 1,280 kg, thus making it almost 70 kg lighter than the Huayra.
The 2023 Pagani Utopia uses APP Tech forged aluminium wheels which measure 21-inch at the front and 22-inch at the back. The wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. As for the braking, it comes with carbon ceramic disc brakes for a better feel and less fade.
