Hyundai has unveiled the new Elantra N sports sedan in the Korean market. The brand markets the Elantra N as the Avante N in Korea. The Hyundai N performance division has combined the best of both worlds with the Hyundai Elantra N. The Elantra N boasts of offering both ‘high-performance’ and ‘practicality’. The high-performance sedan also comes with several enhancements for driving enthusiasts. The Hyundai Elantra N is based on the All-New Elantra sedan that made its debut in April 2020.
Hyundai Elantra N – Engine Specifications
Powering the Hyundai Elantra N is a 2.0-litre turbocharged flat power petrol engine. The turbocharger comes with a 52-mm turbine wheel, which is 5 mm larger in diameter than before. The forced induction system also includes a 12.5-mm square turbine passage with an area increased by 2.5-mm square. Hyundai has also optimised other engine components, such as the shape and material of the cylinder block, to improve the engine’s performance and durability.
Hyundai Elantra N – Engine Performance Figures
The Hyundai Elantra N flat power engine produces 280 PS of power at 5,500 RPM and 392 Nm of torque. The engine features N performance specific N Grin Shift which increases the boost pressure, temporarily producing 290 PS of power. The power and torque on the engine, along with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT), allow the car to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds. The Elantra N is also capable of reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
Hyundai Elantra N – Performance Features
The Hyundai Elantra N comes with high-performance features applied as standard. The Elantra N comes with a performance-focused drivetrain and comes with integrated drive axle (IDA) inspired by WRC rally cars. The N sedan also gets N Corner Carving Differential (e-LSD, electronic Limited Slip Differential). The vehicle also comes with a Variable Exhaust Valve System and Launch Control system. The sedan also gets N Power Shift (NPS) and N Track Sense Shift (NTS) as standard.
The brand also offers high-performance braking power on the Elantra N. The sedan features 360-mm brake discs with high-friction material pads, a cooling hole with dust cover and a brake air guide structure to improve cooling efficiency. The brand also employs four-point strut rings and stiff rear bars to strengthen body rigidity and R-MDPS torque feedback system. The brand also employs N Sound Equalizer (NSE) and the variable exhaust valve system delivering ‘popcorn’ and ‘bang’ sounds.
Hyundai Elantra N – Top Features
The Hyundai Elantra N comes with N seats with reinforced bolsters, an optional N bucket seat with N emblem lighting and a 10mm lowered position. Also available are N light bucket seats with 50 mm reduced seatback thickness and high-performance specifications. The Hyundai Elantra also comes with an N-specific wing-type spoiler and rear diffuser.
The car also comes with an N-exclusive red strip, Elantra N’s side skirts, inverted triangle type N-only reflector and dual single muffler tip. The Elantra N also features an NGS button on the N-branded steering wheel, which raises the horsepower by 10 PS for up to 20 seconds. The steering wheel with paddle shifters comes with two buttons that set the desired drive mode according to the driver’s preference.
