Mercedes-AMG E 53 & E 63 S launched in India

Mercedes-Benz’ high-performance division has introduced the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic+ and the E 63 S 4matic+ in India. The two new aggressive performance sedans are based on the much popular Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The new performance sedans strengthen the brand’s AMG portfolio in India which includes locally manufactured AMG models such as the AMG A 35 4MATIC saloon, AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe, and the AMG GLA 35 4M SUV. In total Mercedes-Benz offer 11 AMG products in the Indian market.

Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic+ and E 63 S 4Matic+ – Price

The Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic+ comes with a price tag of INR 1.02 crore ex-showroom, India. On the other hand, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ comes with a sticker price of INR 1.70 lakh ex-showroom, India.

Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic+ and E 63 S 4Matic+ – Service Package

The brand is also offering service packages that start from INR 1.19 lakh for the AMG E 53 4Matic+. The service package for the AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ starts at INR 1.35 lakhs, for a period of 2 years. The brand also revealed that the AMG performance cars are serviced in dedicated AMG service bays offering a prioritised and personalised experience. The company also employs highly qualified technicians trained from Mercedes-Benz Academy to work on the AMG and Speciality cars, using special AMG tools. Mercedes-AMG also employs dedicated Service Advisors and Diagnostic engineers for the performance cars.

Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic+ – Engine Specifications & Performance

Powering the E 53 4Matic+ is a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder AMG engine. The turbocharged engine features an additional electric compressor that churns out 435 Hp of power and 520 Nm of torque. The engine also comes with an EQ boost system that adds another 22 Hp of power and 250 Nm of torque on demand. The motor is married to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and an AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with fully variable torque distribution. The engine helps the car sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 kmph.

Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ – Engine Specifications & Performance

Powering the E 63 S 4Matic+ is a 4.0-litre V8 engine with direct injection and twin turbochargers. The high-performance engine produces 612 Hp of power and 820 Nm of torque. Mercedes-AMG employs an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with a wet start-off clutch. The car also comes with an AMG Performance 4MATIC+ permanent all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution and Drift Mode. The drivetrain helps the car sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 kmph. The AMG 63 series engine also follows Mercedes-AMG’s ‘One Man One Engine’ philosophy

The Mercedes-AMG models come with an AMG-specific radiator grille with a central star and 12 vertical louvres. The restyled central air intake system also allows better thermodynamics and enhanced aerodynamics. The cars also come with new, flatter taillights and the design appears sharper on the E 63 S 4M+. The cars also come with a reshaped rear apron that makes the car appear wider from behind.

The AMG E 53 4Matic+ and AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ comes with 19-inch light-alloy wheels and 20-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, respectively. On the interiors, AMG-specific seat upholstery in Nappa leather, and an “AMG” badge. The cars also come with ambient lighting as standard. The cars also feature the latest-generation MBUX infotainment system with AMG-specific displays and settings. The AMG models also get new AMG
Performance steering wheel with integrated buttons and three AMG display styles ‘Modern Classic’, ‘Sport’ and ‘SuperSport’ on the instruments cluster.
