Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2025 Ninja 500, priced at INR 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the fully-faired sportbike sees a minor price hike of INR 5,000 over the outgoing model but remains mechanically unchanged.
2025 Kawasaki Ninja 500 – what has changed?
The Ninja 500 continues to be powered by a 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering 45 PS at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts. The bike retains its steel trellis frame, telescopic front forks, and preload-adjustable rear monoshock, ensuring a balanced ride.
Styling changes
Visually, the 2025 Ninja 500 maintains its aggressive styling, featuring twin LED headlights, sharp fairing creases, and an upswept tail section. The only notable change is the introduction of a new Metallic Carbon Grey color scheme, replacing the previous Metallic Spark Black option.
Braking duties are handled by a 310mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS. The bike weighs 171 kg and has a seat height of 785 mm, making it accessible to a wide range of riders.
Tech features include an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to access call alerts, maintenance schedules, and riding logs via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. However, the bike does not offer navigation or traction control, keeping the riding experience more analog.
In India, the Ninja 500 competes with the Aprilia RS 457, which is priced lower at INR 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite the price difference, Kawasaki’s reputation for reliability and performance makes the Ninja 500 a strong contender in the segment.
