Renault India has announced the launch of the 2022 Kiger compact SUV at the starting price of INR 5.84 lakh ex-showroom. The MY22 comes with advanced features in the interiors, exterior addition and both Manual & CVT transmissions on the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine in the RXT(O) variant. The brand reveals that the Renault Kiger has been instrumental in driving India among Renault’s top five global markets.
MY22 Renault Kiger SUV – Design & Features
The Renault Kiger is the result of the collaboration between the design teams in France and India. The MY22 Kiger compact SUV comes with features such as a new Front Skid Plate, new Tailgate Chrome and a New Colour – Metal Mustard with Mystery Black Roof in Dual Tone. Enhancing the new Kiger is the TURBO Door Decal and also the Red Wheel Caps on the exterior. The new Kiger also features 40.64 cm Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels with Red Wheel Caps.
On the inside, the new Kiger features a Red Fade Dashboard Accent, Quilted Emboss Seat Upholstery and Red Stitching. Interiors also include features such as PM2.5 Advanced Atmospheric Filter as a standard feature across the range. The 2022 Renault Kiger also includes Wireless Smartphone Charge enhancing the customer’s convenience.
MY22 Renault Kiger SUV – Powertrain
Powering the Renault Kiger is a 1.0-litre Energy Engine in manual transmission and well as an EASY-R AMT transmission option. The compact SUV also comes with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine option which is now available in the manual transmission, as well as an X-TRONIC CVT transmission option. The naturally-aspirated engine produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. While the turbo-petrol engine option produces 100 Hp of power and 160 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine also claims the best in segment fuel efficiency of 20.5 kmpl.
MY22 Renault Kiger SUV – Safety
The Renault Kiger SUV has been awarded a 4-Star Safety Rating for Adult occupant safety by the Global NCAP. The Kiger comes with safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS+EBD and an electronic stability program as standard. The Renault Kiger was also ranked No.2 in the J.D. Power 2021 India Initial Quality Study (IQS) in the Compact SUV Segment.
