2022 Lexus NX SUV revealed, looks sharp

Lexus has pulled the covers off the all-new Lexus NX in the North American market. The brand boasts that the 2022 Lexus NX will come with a “long list” of segment-first features. This list also includes an all-new Lexus Interface multimedia system which is specially designed for the North American market. The Lexus NX also gets a strong stance and a crossover design and is one of the most technological Lexus in the brand’s 32-year-old history. The brand also revealed that the Lexus NX is the “first step” in a series of 20 all-new or updated vehicles that the brand will launch by 2025. 

2022 Lexus NX – Design & Styling 

The 2022 Lexus NX features a new spindle grille with an updated pattern to integrate well with the body. The new spindle grille also features a three-dimensional effect and creates a sense of depth into the fascia. Flanking the imposing grille are two sleek and powerful three-projector headlamps that come incorporated with Lexus hallmark, tick-mark light signature. The NX also gets a sharp splitter and three-dimensional fog lamp inserts. The SUV features a unified LEXUS logo on the rear, a full-width blade rear combination lamp and also an L-shaped lamp on the rear fender. 

2022 Lexus NX – Interiors & Top Features

The Lexus NX features a driver-centred cockpit and a user-friendly, digital in-vehicle experience. The brand has concentrated most driving-related functions on the steering wheel. This feature allows uninterrupted and intuitive vehicle operation and helps the driver keep their eyes on the road. The Lexus NX also features an optional 10-inch Head-Up Display (HUD)designed to convey vehicle information, alerts and updates, within the driver’s line of sight. Also connecting the man and machine is a 7-inch Multi-Instrument Display (MID). For entertainment, the car gets a 9.8-inch touchscreen as standard and a 14-inch touchscreen as an option. 

2022 Lexus NX – Engine Specifications & Performance

The 2022 Lexus NX comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 206 PS of power and 249 Nm of torque. The engine can propel the NX from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 8.2 seconds (FWD) and 8.6 seconds (AWD), respectively. The SUV also features a 2.4-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 279 PS of power and 430 Nm of torque. The engine allows the SUV to sprint from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.8 seconds. 

The brand is also offering a plug-in hybrid version of the Lexus NX. The electric motor and battery can produce an output similar to a 2.0-litre petrol engine and comes with a manufacturer-estimated 36-mile (58 km) range on electric power only. The hybrid model comes with a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder engine. 

2022 Lexus NX – Colours, Price & Availability

The Lexus NX comes with Redline, Cloudburst Gray and Grecian Water colour options. The brand also offers an F SPORT performance model of the NX with exclusive F SPORT colours that include Ultra White, Obsidian, and Ultra Sonic Blue Mica 2.0. Lexus will start producing the all-new ‘NX’ in the third quarter of 2021. Lexus will announce the pricing closer to the on-sale date.
