KTM India has launched the next generation 2022 KTM RC 390 in India. The latest model boasts true race-derived design, chassis and high-end electronics seen on bigger litre-class motorcycles. The price for the 2022 KTM RC 390 is INR 3,13,922 ex-showroom. Interested customers can now book the thoroughbred race bike from KTM showrooms across the country.
The KTM RC 390 has been a popular Supersport model in the KTM range since 2014. And the latest model takes it to another level. The next-gen 2022 RC 390 is ready to charge out of the pitlane and take the podium.
2022 KTM RC 390 – Design Highlights
The 2022 RC 390 draws its inspiration from the RC 16 racebike. The full-faired motorcycle features a new front fascia with an LED light cluster. The new LED unit replaces the older twin projector units. Aerodynamics was also a focus of the bike’s design. Hence, it features a larger, double bubble-shaped windscreen. The ergonomics are also now different from the previous bike. The knee area is ergonomically developed to allow for easier and more fluid movement. The rear bodywork also sees a substantial reduction. Hence, the new aggressive profile shows off the redesigned steel trellis subframe much better. The 2022 KTM RC 390 will be available in two colour options – KTM Orange and KTM Factory Racing Blue.
2022 KTM RC 390 – Powertrain
Powering the RC 390 is a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine. For 2022, there’s an improvement to the torque delivery thanks to a new, 40 per cent bigger airbox. Additionally, a new engine mapping further increases torque and overall rideability. The engine produces 43.5 HP and 37 Nm of torque. The transmission used is a 6-speed unit with a Power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch (PASC). Additionally, it also gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
2022 KTM RC 390 – Top Features
The 2022 KTM RC 390 comes with a host of safety features. These include a Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Lean-Angle sensitive Cornering ABS and dual-channel ABS with SUPERMOTO mode. The RC also finally gets the multi-colour TFT display as on the Duke 390. The display is Bluetooth-enabled and connects via the KTM MY RIDE app. The handlebar of the bike also features a two-step height adjustment. The suspension of the bike has also undergone a major refresh. The front suspension now features an open cartridge WP APEX upside-down forks, and the rear features a WP APEX pre-load adjustable shock.
