Citroen India has announced the launch of the 2022 C5 Aircross SUV in India. The French brand recently teased the SUV, and it is finally here. The new 2022 C5 Aircross gets a host of subtle design tweaks, which Citroen claims gives it a more distinguished, modern and dynamic personality.
Citroen made its Indian entry with the C5 Aircross back in 2021. And recently, the brand launched its second product for the Indian market, the C3. By bringing the 2022 C5 Aircross not long after its international debut, it is clear that Citroen is taking the Indian market seriously and plans on bringing many more products.
The 2022 C5 Aircross will be available at 20 La Maison Citroen Phygital showrooms in 19 cities. In addition to this, the 2022 C5 Air Cross will also be available to buy online in over 90 cities which are outside the dealer network.
2022 Citroen C5 Aircross – Variants, Price & Colour Options
The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will only come with one variant – Shine. Citroen has also launched the SUV with special introductory pricing of INR 36,67,000 ex-showroom. The brand did not specify till when the introductory prices will be valid.
As for the colour options, Citroen will offer the SUV in a total of four colour options. These are – Pearl Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, Pearl White and the new Eclipse Blue. All colours except for the Pearl Nera Black are also available with a dual-tone option. Citroen is also offering the 2022 C5 Aircross with two Colour Packs – Dark Chrome and Energic Blue.
2022 Citroen C5 Aircross – Exterior Highlights
On the outside, the 2022 C5 Aircross gets a new front styling to accentuate its robust character. It gets a new LED signature that creates a 3D effect using ‘piano key’ details. Furthermore, it features new LED Vision headlights, which extend the gloss black grille. New for the 2022 model, the C5 Aircross gets gloss black chevrons for the logo. The air intakes are sharper than before, and the side scoops increase the C5’s visual width.
On the sides, it gets new 18-inch diamond-cut pulsar alloy wheels, and new Glossy Black covers for the ORVMs. The functional roof bars also get a new matt black insert. At the back, complimenting the front, it gets a new 3D LED light signature.
2022 Citroen C5 Aircross – Interior Highlights
The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross comes with the new generation of Citroen Advanced Comfort seats. These use high-density foam in the core, an extra 15mm layer of foam and specific construction. Citroen claims they offer the best in terms of visual comfort, seating comfort and driving comfort. The French brand also focused on acoustic characteristics, and hence, it gets acoustic laminated front windows which amplify the cocoon effect within the SUV.
The 2022 C5 Aircross also gets a new 10-inch floating touchscreen display. Unlike the previous model, the AC vents now sit below the display and get a new sharp, horizontal design. The instrument cluster also gets an update. The 12.3-inch digital display now gets 3 customisable screens – Minimum, Dials and Personal.
The centre console now also features a new elegant and hi-tech e-Toggle gear selector, a new driving mode selection button, which also incorporates the Grip Control function and more. Other interior highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone FATC, keyless entry and start, wireless charger and more.
2022 Citroen C5 Aircross – Powertrain
The SUV continues to use the same 1,997cc four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with an 8-speed gearbox. The motor puts out 177 PS of power at 3,750 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Citroen claims the C5 Aircross returns 17.5 kmpl.
