German luxury car manufacturer BMW has announced the launch of its new 2022 X3 SUV for the Indian market. BMW will offer the renowned Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) with a refreshed exterior, a new premium interior, and extensive features. The brand has also stated that it will currently offer the 2022 X3 with a single petrol powertrain. The 2022 X3’s SportX Plus costs INR 59,90,000 (ex-showroom) whereas the M Sport costs INR 65,90,000 (ex-showroom).
2022 BMW X3: Design Details
BMW has ensured to redesign the X3 to give it a sportier appeal which includes the new kidney grille. Some of the other redesigned elements include the new adaptive LED matrix headlights with LED DRLs and a new front apron. The brand has equipped the LED taillights with a black border and narrow light graphics with 3D-modeled pincer contour, along with new filigree style, horizontal turn signals, the X3 sports new, flush-fitting free-form tailpipe trims for enhanced sportiness.
BMW will offer an M Sport package on the new X3 that features a front apron with larger air intakes. Additionally, the brand will equip the SUV with high-gloss black air curtains and a sporty rear bumper with a diffuser. The 2022 X3’s M Sport Package also contains 19-inch Y-Spoke alloy wheels with 20-inch wheels as an early bird offer. The X3 will feature 6 metallic colours – Mineral White, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire, Phytonic Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Carbon Black.
2022 BMW X3: Interiors & Features
The newly redesigned interior of the 2022 X3 showcases exceptional levels of comfort and functionality via its modern cabin ambience. BMW has equipped the X3’s interior with a new Multi-function Sport Steering Wheel and electrically-adjustable seats with memory function. Additionally, the M Sport package offers Sports seats, Sensatec perforated upholstery, and an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons. The M Sport package of the new 2022 X3 also includes an M interior trim that enhances the performance-oriented ambience.
The new X3 SUV also features a panoramic glass roof, a Welcome Light Carpet, electroplated trim, air vent elements. Along with a 6-coloured Ambient Lighting System, the SUV also sports 3-zone automatic climate control and a 550-litre boot. The 2022 X3 features the latest BMW ConnectedDrive technologies, including the 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. The system supports BMW Gesture Control and Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, along with using the latest BMW Operating System 7.0.
Known as the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, the system features 3D Navigation and Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera. BMW has also equipped the new X3 with a 16-speaker, 464 W, Harman Kardon Premium Surround System, and 6 airbags. In terms of safety, the SUV sports Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and Cornering Brake Control (CBC). Other safety features include ABS, 4 driving modes, side-impact protection, Brake-Energy regeneration, automatic start/stop, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
2022 BMW X3: Powertrain Details
Powering the new 2022 X3 is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 252 PS and 350 Nm. The SUV transmits this power to all four wheels using its xDrive system via an 8-speed Steptronic sport transmission. The 2022 X3 claims to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 6.6 seconds and sports a top speed of 235 km/h.
