10,000th unit of MG Hector SUV rolls out in India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

There’s only been good news ever since MG Motor India has launched the Hector SUV in India. Even though the brand had to stop accepting bookings for the Hector SUV for a couple of months, there still is enough demand and now with the bookings re-opened, MG has received more than 38,000 bookings in total for the Hector. Morris Garages have now revealed the rolling out milestone of their 10,000th Hector SUV Made-in-India.

Morris Garages has achieved this feat of rolling out the 10,000th Hector SUV in just 4 months since launch. The Hector is not really a budget car, for the masses. It sits in INR 15-20 lakh bracket where it rivals other SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and also similarly priced sedans and UVs.

The 2nd shift for the MG Hector production is starting from November 2019 and the brand has also ramped up component supply from their vendors abroad, and locally. Bookings were re-opened for the MG Hector on September 29th, 2019 and there still is a strong demand for this C-segment SUV.

MG offers the Hector SUV with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L 48V petrol hybrid and a 2.0L diesel engine. The brand also has an option of automatic gearboxes for customers looking for 2-pedal convenience. Morris Garages since yesterday started rolling out OTA updates for the Hector SUV justifying the Internet Car pitch that they had during the launch. With the help of an embedded sim-card in the infotainment, customers can install this OTA update in their car just like in their smartphones making use of internet.
