With more than 36,000 bookings so far, the MG Hector has surely clicked in the Indian market. India loves SUVs, and the Hector from Morris Garages is fighting it out well in a segment where you have cars such as Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and the likes. Now, Morris Garages has revealed that they have started rolling out over-the-air updates for the Hector SUV.

When MG pitched the Hector as an internet car, there were quite a few comments around it; positive and negative. Now, this over-the-air (OTA) update justifies the badge that sits on the car and thanks to the embedded sim card that the Hector comes with, this software update can be downloaded on the cars big infotainment screen via the internet. The first OTA update brings to the car features such as Apple Car Play and other enhancements and software bug fixes. The infotainment content also gets refreshed via this OTA update. So customers need not drive to the MG dealership / service center to get their infotainment system updated/

The Smart & Sharp variants of the MG Hector will start getting a notification on their infotainment about this OTA update. This is a free update and just like in your smartphone, it can be downloaded and updated on the go. The iSmart system will receive this OTA update in batches, so keep an eye on the system of your MG Hector. Morris Garages has confirmed that they will continue to send such OTA updates to enhance the customer experience of Hector owners.

Morris Garages launched the Hector SUV in June 2019, and they had to halt bookings due to a mega response. The brand has now ramped up production capacity and bookings are open yet again. MG is gearing up to introduce their next car, the ZS which will be an electric model to rival the likes of Hyundai Kona.
