Yamaha reveals Delight scooter with engine start/stop system

Yamaha has unveiled the 2021 Yamaha D’elight scooter in the European market. The new 2021 model comes with new modern-retro styling, new headlamps, new indicators and a new overall design with a unisex approach. The brand has also updated the powertrain to make it conform to the upcoming Euro5 emission norms. Yamaha also claims that the power and torque output is similar to the outgoing model. 

The 2021 Yamaha D’elight 125 features a chrome bezeled multi-reflector headlamp with chrome treatment on the front fascia, body-mounted front turn indicators, large ergonomic seats, upright handlebars with body-coloured shrouds, sleek taillamps, silver-finished pillion grab rail, a generous footboard, flush-mounted pillion foot pegs etc. 

The 2021 D’elight also features a new LED daytime running light positioned on the front apron, a new analogue meter with prominent speed markings and an LCD multi-information display with fuel level, odometer etc, front fuel filler, multifunction switches, large under-seat storage for a full-size helmet plus space for personal belongings as well as groceries, the latest Start & Stop technology which automatically turns the engine off when it is stationary reducing emissions and improving the fuel economy. The 2021 D’elight also features a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels shod in wide patch rubber. 

The 2021 Yamaha D’elight is powered by a Euro5 compliant 125cc Blue Core engine which maximises efficiency and reliability. The engine is a single-cylinder air-cooled four-valve four-stroke SOHC motor with electronic fuel injection that produces 8.4 PS of power and 9.8 Nm of torque matched to a V-Belt Automatic transmission. The Yamaha D’elight features a telescopic front suspension with 81mm of travel, a unit swing rear suspension system with 68mm of travel, hydraulic disc brake on the front and mechanical drum brake on the rear. The Yamaha D’elight features 800mm of saddle height, 125mm of ground clearance, 5.5-litres of the fuel tank and tips the scales at 101 kgs on the kerb.  

The 2021 Yamaha D’elight is offered with three colour options – Pearl White, Power Black and Lava Red. The Japanese manufacturer has also revealed the 2021 Yamaha NMAX 125 scooter with Bluetooth connectivity, new styling and a cleaner Euro5-spec 125cc liquid-cooled engine.
