Maruti Suzuki responds to Tata Motors, says WagonR is Dil Se Strong

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Safety is the latest keyword in the car industry right now, and following poor safety ratings on the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Tata Motors has been teasing the Indo-Japanese brand with a broken coffee cup artwork and also the latest wooden Wagon with one of its wheels that had come off. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR had received 2 Stars for safety at the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) in 2019 and recently Tata Motors Tweeted, “Oh Sh**T! WAGONE” with a tagline that says “Safety is ‘two’ important to be ignored. Be smart before someone overturns your caRt.”

To the above wordplay from Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki has responded with an image of the latest generation WagonR with an artwork that says “Dil Se Strong”, which translates to Strong At Heart with a ribbon that says, “Trusted By 24 Lakh+ Families” and a tagline that says, “That’s what makes us who we are: a truly Dil Se Strong connection with the entire WagonR family!”.

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR features the new-generation HEARTECT platform by Maruti Suzuki, designed with a prime focus on safety. The new platform employs Advanced and High Tensile Steels along with a smooth continuous design for better impact absorption in an unfortunate event of a crash. The smooth shape of the platform has been designed to disperse forces and the connected frame offers high rigidity that improves handling and lowers NVH levels.

The brand also offers standard safety features such as a driver Airbag, ABS with EBD, driver and front passenger Seat Belt Reminder, Speed Alert System, Rear Parking Sensors, Central Locking and Child Proof Rear Door Lock. The top-end variant also comes with Speed Sensitive Auto Door Lock, Passenger Airbag, driver and front passenger Seat Belt Pre-tensioner & Force Limiters, Security Alarm and Front Fog Lamps.

Despite, at the Global NCAP the 5-door tall hatchback received 2 Stars for adult protection and 2 Stars for child protection. On the other hand, the Tata Tiago received 4-stars for safety and boasts to be the safest car in the segment.
