The new Citroen C3 Aircross SUV is finally here. It made its global debut in India making it the third model from Citroen. The French carmaker mentioned that the new C3 Aircross SUV will go on sale in the second half of 2023.
The C3 Aircross uses the brand’s CMP modular platform Although it shares its C3 moniker significantly, with styling cues and powertrain with the C3 hatchback. But the Aircross is much larger in length and has a longer wheelbase too.
As of now, the brand has shared limited details of the new C3 Aircross SUV. We are aware that it is 4.3 meters long, As for the design highlights, the C3 Aircross does look a lot like the smaller C3.
Like most Citroens, the logo on the front has been integrated neatly into the grille. We also see the Citroen signature Y-Shaped daytime running lamps with the headlamps sitting right under them. The front bumper sits tall and gets its dedicated air intake vent surrounded by round fog lamp enclosures.
We see C3 Aircross with round wheel arches and cladding just below the doors, on the wheel arches and doors. At the back, the Aircross gets a large tailgate with tall bumpers and adequate cladding. The squarish tail-lamps are similar to the smaller C3 but are larger in size.
Citroen comes with two seating options. There is a standard five-seat iteration along with a three-row layout that can carry seven passengers. Talking of the cargo room, Citroen claims that the 5-seat C3 Aircross offers a 444-litre boot. Meanwhile, the 7-seater variant gets 511 litres with the third row fully removed.
With the Aircross too we see the same 10.2-inch touchscreen, available in the C3. The C3 Aircross also benefits from a full-digital multi-colour instrument cluster with multiple drive modes.
The C3 Aircross gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. This motor makes 110 HP and 190 Nm of torque. For the gearbox options, the C3 Aircross will go on sale with a six-speed manual initially. We understand that there are chances of an automatic coming in as well.
The C3 Aircross, once launched, will enter the SUV bloodbath. It will take on the leaders such as Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, the Maruti Grand Vitara, the Toyota Hyryder, the Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.
