Finally, Citroen has added a new top trim for their C3 with creature comforts which as expected in the price range. The MY23 Citroen C3 gets a new Shine top variant and this new addition has happened only on the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol option. Prices for the new Citroen C3 Shine start from INR 7.6 lakh ex-showroom. Citroen has also announced that their C3 product lineup is now BS6 Phase II compliant. The new C3 Shine variant will soon reach dealerships, for customers to experience it.
Citroen’s C3 currently rivals the likes of Tata Punch in the Indian market. Soon, the Hyundai Exter SUV will also slot in the same segment and potential customers looking at this crossover segment could also consider the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
Apart from the existing features which the Citroen C3 Live & Feel variants offered, the new Shine top trim adds some extra creature comforts. This includes electric controls for the outside rear view mirrors, rear parking camera, day & night setting for IRVM, 15″ diamond cut dual tone alloy wheels, front fog lamps, rear skid plate, rear wash & wipe and a rear defogger. Along with this the Citroen C3 which is a B-segment hatchback crossover, will also get connected car features via the My Citroen Connect app.
For now, the Citroen C3 Shine variant is only limited to the 1.2L petrol engine option. This is a naturally aspirated, 1.2L, 3-cylinder block producing 82 HP of peak power and 115 Nm of peak torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Now this engine is meeting the new emission norms. There’s no update about the Puretech 110 motor though, which was a 1,199cc, 3-cylinder, turbocharged unit producing 110 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Will the turbo-petrol engine continue? Citroen is yet to announce this.
