Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 caught testing, looks launch ready

Written by Kanad Kalasur

The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has once again spotted testing. However, this bike now looks production ready and we could also spot some more new features.

What’s new in the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450?

Royal Enfield is known to test their pre-production bikes rigorously. This Himalayan 450 is no expectation and the test mules have been spotted multiple times. This time around we have some more details regarding the fuel tank and the LCD instrumentation cluster.

Looking at the spy images, we can make out that the bike comes with a muscular fuel tank. However, it taper towards the rear, making it comfortable for the rider to place their knees against it. Further, the handlebar is wide, which will offer good leverage when turning. The seats consist of a split-type setup. The bike in pictures also had a luggage rack at the rear and the jerry can holders at the front.

Coming to the electronics, the Himalayan 450 now comes with a round LCD instrument cluster. This is positioned behind the large windscreen. Looking at the size of the display, we can expect it to show a lot of information to the rider. It is also said that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 could get Bluetooth connectivity. This could in theory also support turn-by-turn navigation on the display unit.

Design of the new Himalayan 450

Not much information is revealed from its minimal bodywork, but few of the details are identifiable. It gets an almost upright stance for the rider and a slight bend at the knees to reach out for the pedals. The tank curves to merge with the single-piece seat. The bike gets an all-LED setup all around. The front indicators look lifted from the Himalayan while the rear are housed in the tail lamp cluster itself.

As the bike is using a new engine, the chassis, too, can be an all-new design made specifically for this powertrain. The exhaust also appears to be an all-new design. The stubby end can looks similar to the Hunter 350.
