Hyundai clocked 1,00,000+ rural car sales in CY2022

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has crossed a new sales milestone. For the CY2022, the Korean carmaker sold more than 100,000 units across the rural sales outlets. Additionally, the company has also deployed the 100th Mobile Service Van (MSV) in Siliguri (West Bengal). This reaffirms the carmaker’s commitment to the rural market. 

Hyundai’s Growth in the Rural markets 

Compared to CY2019, the CY2022 numbers are 17 percent higher. It is the faith of the customers in the Hyundai brand that has helped achieve this milestone. 

Infact, Hyundai rural network consists of 600+ outlets along with 97% Service facilities. This availability acts as a catalyst to enhance customer’s peace of mind. It also helps delight the customer. Further, catering to this rising segment of customers, Hyundai has increased its rural manpower to over 5000 in CY2022.

Hyundai’s Creta and Venue are the most popular cars sold in the rural areas. This is inline with the urban areas as well. The Grand i10 NIOS is also a popular choice of customers.

Hyundai’s Indian network 

Currently, Hyundai has 1,485 service outlets spread across 935 cities. Thanks to improved road infrastructure as well as better agricultural income has increased the automobile penetration in the rural areas. 

Hyundai’s Door-step Car Care Initiative. 

Hyundai launched its first mobile service van in Meerut, UP. The vans are equipped with all the necessary equipment to handle the periodic maintenance services as well as some of the running repair jobs. The van has specially trained technicians that can meet the demands of the customers on the move.

Hyundai’s EV onslaught

Hyundai is planning to offer cars in multiple segments in India. Especially amongst the electric vehicles, it is said that the company will have a wide range of products ranging from small EVs to big SUVs. The company hopes that a wider range will help to cater to a variety of price brackets. Infact, Hyundai could also plan a dedicated EV factory if the demand for the EV shows positive growth in a short time.

Hyundai India MD, Unsoo Kim has told the media that they want to be at the top spot in India when it comes to electrification. Hyundai was caught slightly unawares with the strong electric growth in India, but Unsoo Kim says that the company is ready to start a new chapter in India.
