TVS Ronin is a neo-retro motorcycle for the Indian market. It is currently available in three trims. These are, namely, Ronin SS (Rs 1.49 lakh), Ronin DS (Rs 1.56 lakh) and Ronin TD (Rs 1.69-1.71 lakh). All prices mentioned are in the ex-showroom.
In terms of design, the new TVS motorcycle takes its inspiration from the shape of a retro-styled, scrambler-cum-cafe racer motorcycle. On the front, Ronin features a round headlight with a subtle T-shaped LED DRL inside. There’s also an offset, single-pod instrument cluster, that adds to the overall outlook. TVS is offering the motorcycle in a single-piece seat. Other key design highlights include a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a large belly pan, blacked-out engine casings, and an all-black exhaust system with a silver-coloured tip on the end can. TVS mentioned that it also offers a range of customization options with the Ronin.
Customers can have the motorcycle in Lightning Black and Magma Red for the SS trim. Meanwhile, for the DS trim, we get Delta Blue and Stargaze Black shades. The top-of-the-range Ronin TD can be had in Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange colour shades.
As for the features on offer, the new Ronin comes equipped with LED lighting all around. We also get an optional USB charger and TVS’ Smart Connect Bluetooth connectivity system. This tech offers call and message alerts, turn-by-turn navigation support, and voice assistance features. Another key feature is that it also gets two modes for the ABS, urban and rain, and comes equipped with an assist-and-slipper clutch.
The new TVS Ronin gets a 225.9cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine. This motor makes 20.4 HP at 7750 rpm and 19.93Nm at 3750 rpm. The new engine gets an oil cooler with an integrated starter generator. Meanwhile, the equipped gearbox is a 5-speed unit.
The suspension setup of the new TVS Ronin consists of 41mm USD Showa fork up front and a gas-charged monoshock at the back. Now for the braking, the motorcycle gets discs at both ends, with dual-channel ABS available on the top variant.
Other options in this segment include Royal Enfield Classic 350, Yamaha FZ-X, Honda H’ness CB350 and even the Bajaj Pulsar 250s and Dominar 250.
