TVS Motor Company announces the launch of its iQube Electric scooter in Pune. After the recent amendment in the FAME II subsidy, electric two-wheelers have received significant price cuts. And hence, customers who are more attracted towards the idea of buying an electric two-wheeler. The demand for electric vehicles in India is at an all-time high. Covid-19 has also propelled the jump in electric vehicles. People these days are not preferring to use public transport, and electric vehicles are the most suitable and economical alternative for them. After receiving a positive response in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Chennai, TVS will replicate the same with Pune.
Powering the TVS iQube is a 4.4 kW electric motor that delivers a max speed of 78 kmph and a claimed mileage of 75 km with a full charge. Customers get a 5A charger as a standard purchase along with the scooter. TVS claims that the 2.25 kW battery pack gets charged from 0 to 80 per cent in about 5 hours. To enable a smooth riding experience, TVS has equipped the iQube with telescopic front forks and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers.
TVS iQube gets all the necessary connectivity features required for an electric scooter. Customers can connect the TFT digital display with their smartphone via their iQube app and get all the details like battery status indicator, parking location finder, SMS and call alerts, geofencing, and more. Q-park assist is one of the highlighting features of this scooter. This aids the rider to park the scooter with ease, in tight situations. Other utility features include an LED headlight and taillight, a USB charger, a TFT display, and more. TVS is also offering a 3-year/50,000 km warranty along with 1-year roadside assistance. This will add to the peace of mind of the customers.
