TVS has exported over 1 Million Two-wheelers in FY 21-22

One of India’s two and three-wheeler manufacturers has achieved the milestone of exporting 1 million units in FY 21-22. This figure includes the sales from TVS Motor Company and PT TVS, Indonesia, involving the HLX series, Raider, and Neo series. TVS Motor Company states that it achieved this significant milestone thanks to the increase in global motorcycle sales. The company stated that this achievement further underscored its path towards being a global player in providing personal mobility solutions.

Export and Expansion Goals 

TVS Motor Company currently has a presence across 80 countries, including Africa, Southeast Asia, the Indian Sub-Continent, Central and Latin America. The brand expressed its goal of entering more markets in Europe and North America, offering best-in-class quality and customer experience. By exporting vehicles, TVS aims to expand and bolster its market presence across various global markets with a variety of products. This will enable them to cater to the fast-evolving mobility needs of customers via the support of their distribution network.

During the first week of February, TVS Motor Company announced its sales report for January 2022 for the Indian market. In total, the two-wheeler manufacturer recorded a sale of 2,66,788 units in the market during the aforementioned period. In comparison, TVS sold a total of 3,07,149 units in January 2021, owing to Covid and semiconductor chip constraints. Additionally, the brand announced its partnership with food-delivery giant Swiggy to deploy its electric scooter via its delivery fleet.

This partnership will allow the two companies to achieve their sustainable and comprehensive goals as the demand for EVs rises. TVS has also spoken about its plans of developing more EVs for its portfolio as it currently offers the iQube. In January 2022, the company also invested in Swiss E-Mobility Group AG (SEMG) in order to expand its portfolio. By acquiring a 75% stake in the company, TVS aims to expand itself throughout Europe and offer premium, technological products.

Along with acquiring Norton Motorcycles and the EGO Movement, the brand has spearheaded its commitment to global sustainability. TVS Motor Company has also continued to invest in EVs for the upcoming decade as a commitment towards e-mobility. These new investments will allow the company to showcase a global focus on the environment and accelerate demand for mobility solutions.
