Triumph Tiger Sport 660 Review

Triumph recently launched the brand’s most affordable Tiger model – the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 in the Indian market. The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is based on the Triumph Trident platform by features an adventure touring design and proportions from the Tiger family ADV bikes.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 competes in the premium middle-weight adventure motorcycle category. This includes contenders such as the Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the Honda CB500X. The Triumph Tiger 660 comes with an introductory price tag of INR 8.95 lakh ex-showroom. This makes the Tiger Sport 660 almost INR 1.5 lakh more expensive than its roadster sibling – the Trident 660. The brand offers the Tiger Sport 660 with three colour options – Graphite & Saphire Black, Lucerne Blue & Sapphire Black, and Korosi Red & Graphite. Triumph provides the Tiger Sport 660 with a 16,000 km /12 months service interval, and the bike also comes with 40+ accessories with a 2-year unlimited mileage warranty. The bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 are already open, and aficionados can book the motorcycle from Triumph dealerships across India. 

Triumph Tiger 660 – Technical Specifications

Powering the Triumph Tiger 660 is a liquid-cooled 660cc in-line three-cylinder DOHC engine. The Triumph Triple engine comes with a 240-degree firing order, multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control. Thanks to this, the compact engine is able to produce 81 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission with a wet multi-plate slipper clutch. The brand also offers a stainless steel three into one header system and a single mid-ship exhaust. 

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 features a tubular steel perimeter frame with a twin-sided swingarm. The motorcycle rides on Showa 41mm USD separate function forks on the front, offering 150mm of travel. The rear comes with a Showa monoshock with remote hydraulic preload adjustment, which also offers 150mm of wheel travel. Braking power comes from Nissin twin 310mm discs on the front and a single 255mm Nissin disc brake unit on the rear with dual-channel ABS. The Tiger Sport 660 features 1418 mm of wheelbase, 835 mm of seat height, 17.2-litre fuel tank and 206 kg of weight at the kerb. The motorcycle also gets 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels shod in road-biased tyres.

The Triumph Tiger 660 features all-LED lighting and a multi-functional instrument with a TFT display. Thanks to the Triumph connectivity system, the display offers turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control, and phone interaction. The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 also comes with Road and Rain riding modes that integrate with throttle and traction control settings offering better control over the rider and enhancing safety. The bike also features a single-hand height-adjustable windscreen and discreetly integrated pannier mounts as standard.
