Toyota total sales in India cross 2 Million units

Toyota Kirloskar Motor India has breached the two million cumulative sales figure ever since its inception in India. The company achieved this feat while handing over a Glanza as the two millionth vehicle from a dealership in Trichur, Kerala. Over the years, Toyota has grown as a brand with its wide range of options, starting from hatchbacks to full-blown SUVs. Innova and Fortuner continue to propel Toyota India’s sales figure and have been the identity for the brand ever since. Recent titles like the Urban Cruiser and Glanza have further driven the brand’s sales figures.

Toyota India’s Dealership Network

Since 1997, the carmaker has expanded its dealership network, having made its presence in the country. As it stands today, Toyota India has a 419-dealer network/touchpoints in the country. In the last two decades, Toyota India has grown as a brand catering to the needs of Indians. Reliability has been the key USP for Toyota’s range of products. And hence we see a host of the taxi segment opting for Toyotas a lot. Of all, Innova has been the preferred choice for the tourism segment and continues to do the same. The carmaker confirmed that it will shift its focus to expanding its presence in Tier II and III markets.

Plans For The Future

Toyota is fully prepared to build a stable, sustainable, and competitive local supply chain, keeping up with the central government’s initiative of ‘Make In India’. Furthermore, with the increasing demand for electric vehicles, Toyota has led down its plans for mass electrification.

The carmaker has also implemented initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and achieve water sustainability goals. Toyota Motors India has set a new benchmark by reaching 100 per cent Renewable Energy sources in its plant at Bidadi. Under the initiative of ‘Mass Happiness to All’, Toyota aims to cater to their customers with an enhanced product portfolio. The initiative will also enable best in class sales and service experience, thus yielding the benefits of value-added services.
