Toyota Rumion : More Details

Toyota wants to launch the Rumion MPV in India near September 2023. The car will be built by Maruti Suzuki and supplied to Toyota.
The Rumion will be an additional MPV in its Indian line-up. The other MPVs include the Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta and the Vellfire. While the South African Rumion went on sale in October 2021, Toyota filed the trademark in India at the same period.

In terms of design, the MPV is identical to the Ertiga save for minor changes including the grille and badging. On the inside as well, the Rumion will be similar to the Ertiga. In South Africa, the Rumion gets a darker all-black interior compared to the Ertiga’s beige upholstery. However, it is reported that both the Ertiga and the Rumion will have the same interiors in India.

Overseas, Maruti supplied Toyota with the Ciaz, which is sold as the Belta, Celerio which sells as the Vitz and the Baleno hatch which is nothing but the Starlet.

In some markets, Toyota supplies Suzuki with the RAV4 SUV and the Corolla wagon. These are sold as the A-Cross SUV and the Suzuki Swace respectively.
