Toyota Innova Crysta gets new safety features as standard, Kia Carnival effect

Toyota upgraded the Innova Crysta MPV to BS6 standards well before the intended deadline and recently the carmaker launched the Toyota Innova Crysta Leadership Edition 15 years of leadership in the MPV segment. The brand has now updated the Innova Crysta MPV with new safety features such as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) as a standard part of the pack. 

The Toyota Innova Crysta measures 4735mm in length, 1830mm in width, 1795mm of height and 2750mm of the wheelbase. The Toyota Innova Crysta also features other safety features such as a GOA (Global Outstanding Assessment) body, multiple airbags (driver, front passenger & driver’s knee), antilock brakes, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, three-point seatbelts with pretensioner and force limiters, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, reverse parking sensors, clutch start on manual variants, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, anti-theft system, emergency brake signal and ISOFIX & tether anchor for child restraint systems as standard.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is powered by two engine variants a BS6 compliant 2TR-FE 2.7-litre four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC Dual VVT petrol engine that produces 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual and an optional 6-speed sequential-shift automatic gearbox and Eco and Power driving modes. 

The MPV also comes with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder Common Rail Turbocharged Diesel with Intercooler equipped with a Variable Nozzle Turbocharger, 16 Valve, DOHC that produces 150 PS of power and 343 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 360 Nm of torque with the 6-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission with driving modes – Eco and Power. 

The Toyota Innova Crysta features projector LED headlamps, imposing chrome treated grille, bumper-mounted fog lamps, character lines on the shoulders, rounded wheel arches, chrome ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, chrome window beltline, chrome door handles, inverted L-shaped taillights, puddle lamps, shark-fin antenna, start/stop button, centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, blue illuminated instrument cluster with 3-dimensional inserts, dual-tone premium leather upholstery, wooden embellishments on the dashboard, cooled glove box, rear air-conditioning with digital display, seatback table with cupholders, ambient lights etc. 

The Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 model is priced starting from INR 15.36 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the Petrol variant and INR 16.14 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the Diesel variant.
