A very silent recall for the Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner has come into our notice. Both the cars are being recalled for inspection of the wiring harness and taping. It is to be noted that the Innova Crysta and Fortuner are cash cows for the Toyota brand, and quite expensive too with incremental additions over their predecessor.
Toyota reveals that Innova Crysta models built between April 2016 to January 2018 and Fortuner models built between October 2016 – November 2017 are subject to this recall, and might have a faulty wiring harness. Toyota however hasn’t officially revealed this in the press, but are conducting this inspection and replacement as and when cars arrive at showrooms for repairs or service.
The wiring harness is said to be prone to damages because of rubbing against other set of wires. Toyota claims that they will take one full day for this inspection / replacement process. All part changes, whatever necessary pertaining to this problem would be covered under warranty.
The petrol powered Innova Crysta and Fortuner models built between July 21, 2016 & March 22, 2018 have also been recalled for inspection of their fuel hose routing.
