In an attempt to maintain the lead position in the electric four-wheeler segment, Tata Motors has some news. The company has now slashed the prices of its best-selling model the Nexon EV. This move comes just after Mahindra announced the prices of its latest EV offering, the XUV400. Tata Motors has now put a sticker price starting at INR 14.49 lakh for the Nexon EV. The company has also added a new variant for the Nexon EV Max called the XM trim that retails at INR 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
In terms of the pricing for individual models, the entry-level Nexon Prime’s XM variant now costs INR 14.49 lakh, down from INR 14.99 lakh. Additionally, Nexon Prime’s XZ+ and XZ+ (LUX) models are cheaper by INR 31,000 and will now cost INR 15.99 lakh and INR 16.99 lakh respectively.
Meanwhile, the heaviest price reductions are available on the longer-range Nexon EV Max models. Starting off with the 3.3 kW charger option models, the XZ+ variant of the 3.3 kW charger Nexon EV Max now retails at INR 17.49 lakh. This gets a price reduction of INR 85,000. Additionally the XZ+ (LUX) variant of the 3.3 kW charger Nexon will retail at INR 18.49 lakh which also gets an INR 85,000 price cut.
Finally, we have the Nexon EV Max with the 7.2 kW charger. This trim also gets an INR 85,000 price cut for the XZ+ and XZ+ (LUX) variants. From now the XZ+ and XZ+ (LUX) variants will retail at INR 17.99 lakh and INR 18.99 lakh respectively. Prior to this reduction, these variants sold for INR 18.84 and INR 19.84 respectively.
Furthermore, Tata Motors has also updated the Nexon EV Max’s range to 453 kilometres (MIDC cycle). This is 16 kilometres more than the model’s previously stated range of 437 kilometres. The enhanced range will attract customers towards the Nexon EV Max brand.
