Written by Kanad Kalasur

Tata has taken the wraps off the new Intra V20 BiFuel goods carrier at the Auto Expo 2023. The Intra V20 BiFuel is India’s first CNG+Petrol fuel commercial vehicle with a payload of 1000 kg. The CNG version will now offer a lower TCO to its customers.

Features of the Intra V20 BiFuel

The truck is built on Tata’s Premium Tough design. It features a walk-through cabin, dash mounted gear lever and many comfort features.

The Intra V20 is built on a hydro-form chassis with better drivability and standard electric power assist. To help the driver get the maximum efficiency, the Intra V20 comes with an Eco mode and a gear shift indicator. The ground clearance of the truck is 175 mm.

Customers can choose two options for fuel tanks. Owners will be able to configure their Intra V20s with either a 110 litre CNG tank and a 35L petrol tank or a 80L CNG tank and a 5L petrol tank. This gives the truck a total range of 300 to 800 km based on tank options selected.

Powertrain of the Intra V20 BiFuel

The Intra V20 gets a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder NGNA BiFuel engine. In CNG mode, it develops 39 kW @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 95 Nm @ 1,800-2,200 rpm. On petrol mode, the same numbers read as 43 kW and 106 Nm respectively.
