Tata Harrier Dark Edition gets cheaper XT variant launched at INR 16.50 lakh

Tata Motors India launched the Harrier SUV in the Dark Edition avatar available in the XZ and the range-topping XZ+ trim. The Dark Edition Harrier was priced starting at INR 17.85 lakh ex-showroom. But Tata has now rolled out the Harrier Dark Edition in the mid-range XT trim and the XT+ which has brought the starting price range of the Dark Edition down to INR 16.50 lakh ex-showroom and making it more accessible and more affordable. The Harrier Dark Edition XT+ is priced at INR 17.50 lakh ex-showroom.

On the outside, the Tata Harrier Dark Edition comes with a sinister Black on Black paint theme. The SUV features an Atlas Black exterior paint finish complement by the Blackstone finished 17-inch alloy wheels and Blackstone finished front and rear skid plates. The all-black styling is highlighted by chrome accents on the grille, under the headlamp cluster, the window lining and the loading lip of the boot which in all honesty adds character to the paint theme.

The interiors too come with a dark theme as the name suggests and these too are accented by subtle chrome treatment around the infotainment area, air-con vents, the instruments cluster and the transmission tunnel. The leatherette upholstery is also finished in Benecke Kaliko Blackstone with contrast stitching. The Dark Edition also features a Blackstone Matrix embellishment on the dashboard fascia making it extra sporty. The equipment on the Harrier Dark Edition XT remains identical to the standard XT and XT+ models and comes with projector headlamps, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with rear-view camera, 6-speaker audio system and automatic climate control.

In the engine department, the Tata Harrier Dark Edition is powered by a BS6 emissions-compliant 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that makes 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Dark Edition XZ and XZ+ trim also come with Automatic transmission options. The brand has also revised pricing on the recently-launched standard Harrier XT+ by INR 21,000 over the ex-showroom price. The new variant was launched at an introductory price of INR 16.99 Lakhs ex-showroom.
