Skoda is planning to launch the new Kodiaq in the facelift avatar in the Indian market. The brand revealed the Skoda Kodiaq facelift in the international market in April 2021. Now, the Director, Sales and Marketing, Skoda India, Zoc Hollis, has revealed via micro-blogging site Twitter that the brand will launch the Kodiaq facelift in January 2022. The SUV is likely to arrive on Indian soil via the CKD (Completely Knocked-Down) route to keep the price in check.
Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Design Highlights
The Skoda Kodiaq facelift will come with changes to the exterior as well as tweaks to the interiors. The brand will offer a new sharper design with sharper front and rear fascia. Skoda has also employed a new design on the alloy wheels of the Kodiaq SUV. The new Kodiaq comes with a sharper hexagonal grille and sleeker headlamps. The SUV gets hallmark Skoda centre spine in a unique V design on the clamshell bonnet and the typical four-eyed look. The Kodiaq also comes with Matrix LED headlamps on the higher-spec models. The rear features a C-shaped light signature and Skoda’s crystalline effect. The brand has also reprofiled the bumpers of the SUV.
On the inside, the Skoda Kodiaq offers features such as new decorative strips and stitching. The SUV will also get ergonomic upgrades to the seats, and Skoda will also renew the upholstery. The brand will also be offering a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit instruments display, a large touchscreen infotainment system and Canton speakers on higher-spec models. Also, expect Skoda state-of-the-art Crew Protect Assist safety assistance system with ADAS.
Skoda Kodiaq Facelift – Technical Specifications
In the recent past, Zac Hollis also revealed that the Kodiaq would come with a 2.0-litre TSI engine in India. Currently, the turbo-petrol engine makes 190 PS of power. Skoda also offers the EVO generation 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol unit producing 245 PS of power in the international market. We speculate that Skoda will also offer the Kodiaq in new Sportline trim.
