Skoda Kodiaq facelift sold out in India for 4 months

The Skoda Kodiaq facelift was launched in India just a couple of days back. But the dealerships had started taking bookings for the car from last month. Now, Skoda India mentioned that the SUV is sold out for the next 4 months. Deliveries for these bookings will commence very soon. This overwhelming response is no surprise. The Skoda Kodiaq was a very successful car in the country. This new model gets updates to both the interiors and exteriors, thus making it even more appealing to the customers.

The Kodiaq facelift arrives on Indian soil via the CKD route and is assembled at Skoda India’s Aurangabad plant. Skoda has a starting price of INR 34.99 lakh for this 7-seater SUV. Customers will have three trims to choose from, Style, Sportline, and L&K. Kodiaq nameplate returns to India after 2 years of wait. The carmaker had discontinued the car, which was in line with Skoda’s decision to stop selling diesel cars.

Exterior Updates In 2022 Model

This Kodiaq retains most of the changes we saw in the mid-life facelift update for the international market. The most prominent changes are the new front grille, updated headlight unit with revised LED Daytime Running Lamp, an elevated bonnet and a slightly tweaked front bumper. In the rear, there’s no change either on the side profile as well.

Interiors Changes

The basic layout of the interiors is the same as the outgoing model. But there’s some new inclusion in terms of kit. The first big noticeable change is Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel. This is the same as the one we see in the Superb, Octavia and Kushaq. In terms of rider aids, the SUV packs some new additions. The list includes dynamic chassis control, which adjusts the firmness of the dampers based on the drive mode, heated and cooled front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless charging pad and a 12-speaker Canton sound system.

Mechanicals And Powertrain

The SUV gets a 2.0-litre TSI 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The performance figure stands at 187 BHP and 320 Nm. There’s no manual gearbox on offer, and hence customers will get the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-Wheel-Drive is also now a standard fitment with the Kodiaq.
