2022 Skoda Kodiaq launched in India at INR 34.99 lakh, available in 3 variants

Skoda India has launched the new 2022 Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market with a starting price tag of INR 34.99 lakh ex-showroom. The brand revealed that the Skoda Kodiaq would come with three variants and offer the latest-generation Simply Clever technologies and features. Skoda also revealed that the Kodiaq has kick-started the Czech brand’s 2022 product offensive strategy in the Indian market, with more products to come later this year. Skoda India is also working on a robust sales strategy and an aggressive network expansion plan.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Price and Variants

Skoda will offer the 2022 Kodiaq with three trim options – Style, SportLine and Laurin & Klement. The Style trim comes with a price tag of INR 34.99 lakh ex-showroom. The mid-spec SportLine comes with a price tag of INR 35.99 lakh ex-showroom. The top-spec Laurin & Klement variant of the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes with a sticker price of INR 37.49 lakh ex-showroom, India.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Design and Exterior Features

The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq retains the big and bold SUV looks and comes with rugged exteriors features. The SUV features a redesigned front and rear along with a new hexagonal Skoda grille. The brand offers a new bonnet and reprofiled front & rear bumpers which are now body-coloured. The head and taillight clusters not only receive cosmetic but also functional upgrades to them. The headlights now feature Crystalline LEDs with illuminated eyelashes, and the taillights come with dynamic turn indicators. The Skoda Kodiaq also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels with a different design unique to each variant. The brand also offers a new rear spoiler which adds to the aerodynamic efficiency of the SUV.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Interiors and Features

On the inside, the Skoda Kodiaq comes with 7-seats on offer with the Style and Laurin & Klement variants focussed on rear-seat luxury. The Laurin & Klement trim comes with stone beige leather perforated upholstery and chrome trim inside-out. The L&K model also comes with cooling and heating seats. The SportLine model features an all-black suede interior. The model comes with a 3-spoke flat-bottom sport steering wheel. The seats come with more side bolstering, integrated headrests, and expanded shoulder support sport seats for enthusiastic cornering. The Kodiaq is also equipped with a panoramic sunroof.

The Kodiaq also gets a 20.32 cm infotainment touchscreen with in-built navigations and Skoda CONNECT APP. The SUV also comes with a state-of-the-art Canton 625 W 12-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. The car also features wireless smartphone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Kodiaq also comes with an array of latest-generation USB C ports accessible to the front passengers and a 12V socket for the convenience of the rear passengers. The Kodiaq also comes with a 26.03 cm media interface with five themes for the driver.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Simply Clever Features

Skoda also offers a 40:20:40 split of second-row seats and a 50-50 split third-row backrest. The SUV comes with 270 litres of boot space at the back with seven seats up. Skoda also offers Virtual Pedal with the electric tailgate, and slots for wet umbrellas in the doors. The brand also offers the Kodiaq with a Power Nap Package with a blanket, ticket-holder in the A-pillar, illuminated and cooled glovebox, dashboard storage, and the Easy Grip mat for the front bottle holder.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Technical Specifications

Powering the Skoda Kodiaq is a powerful yet efficient 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Volkswagen Group’s TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) engine family. The petrol motor produces 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. This allows the large SUV to sprint from 0-100 kmph in a claimed 7.8 seconds.

Skoda offers the Kodiaq with features such as Progressive Steering and a first-in-segment Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). DCC allows the driver to select Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sports, Snow and Individual driving modes on the all-terrain SUV. The DCC consists of dual-shell, gas-liquid shock absorbers mated to an Electronic Control Unit. This allows the SUV to continuously monitor the terrain and make changes in the damping characteristics to offer a smooth and consistent ride.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq – Safety Features

The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes with safety features such as 9 airbags as standard. Safety features also include adaptive front headlights, automatic dimming exterior mirror (on driver side) and defogging across all transparent surfaces. The brand offers electronic, mechanical and hydraulic brake assist, stability control, multi-collision braking, and park assist with handsfree parking, among other safety features. In addition to this, the top-of-the-line Laurin & Klement trim comes with hill descent control and a 360-degree camera as standard.
