The new Scrambler from the Royal Enfield stable has been spotted testing in India for the first time. This means that the company could be planning to launch the bike in India soon. Some changes were made to the bodywork compared to the first test models spotted back in the UK, but the overall motorcycle remains unchanged.
Design of the Scrambler
Compared to the previously spotted bike, there are just a few changes. While it is identifiable as a scrambled, there are changes like a triangular side panel compared to the oval design spotted earlier. A new flyscreen for wind protection was also seen. It is yet to be discovered if this is an accessory or offered as standard fitment with the bike.
There is also what appears to be an auxiliary light below the front indicator. However, the lamp has red bits, which are not available on aux lights usually. Royal Enfield also never offered any such lights as part of the accessories catalogue for any models. We will need to wait and watch if this will be offered as an accessory for the first time.
Engine of the Scrambler
The engine and chassis appear to be unchanged. The exhaust gets a 2-to-1 design – another of the first on the Royal Enfield bikes. That said, there could be different internals used in the engine as well as a different state of tune to suit the bike. The Scrambler will also feature an upside-down front shock absorber and different-sized front and rear wheels.
Launch of the Scrambler
The brand plans to go big at the upcoming EICMA Show in November. Sources suggest the brand will likely reveal at least one new model. The brand is currently testing multiple models. Hence, it is still being determined which one it might be.
