Royal Enfield is planning to introduce a new Bobber motorcycle in the Indian market which is likely to be based on the Classic 650 platform. The Classic Bobber is likely to use the same 650cc twin-cylinder engine from the Shotgun 650. In addition to this, reports have revealed that the Classic Bobber could come with a removable pillion seat making the motorcycle more versatile.
Spied Testing
Test mules of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 have been spotted multiple times on Indian roads now. This leads us to believe that the brand is likely to be in the final phases of testing. However, a new motorcycle with Classic Bobber styling has also been spotted recently. This could be Royal Enfield’s latest iteration on the 650 platform. The brand is likely to christen the new motorcycle Classic Bobber 650 or Classic 650 Bobber.
Design Highlights
While the majority of design elements appear to have trickled down from the Classic 650 which is likely to make its debut soon. This may include the tank, headlamp nacelle and side panels. But the Classic Bobber is likely to come with a removable pillion seat making it a single sweater motorcycle. This system could be similar to what Royal Enfield offers on the Shotgun 650. Compared to the Classic 650 the Classic Bobber is also likely to have a more relaxed riding position, thanks to the forward set foot pegs and an easy reach handlebar.
Technical Speculation
But in terms of mechanical features the Classic Bobber is likely to be identical to the Classic 650. It is likely to be powered by the same 648cc air-oil-cooled twin-cylinder in-line motor developing 47 Hp of power and 52 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is also likely to come with right-side up telescopic front fork, twin shocks on the rear and spoke wire rims.
