Royal Enfield has released a teaser of the Himalayan 450 on social media. This is also the first time that the bike manufacturer has teased the bigger Himalayan 450. Though this is the first teaser, so far, countless spy shots of the adventure motorcycle have surfaced online.
Royal Enfield is not only testing the adventure motorcycle in India but also internationally. The last spy shots came from the UK, where the bike was seen at a fuel pump. Royal Enfield is going to update the bike thoroughly to make it better for on-road riding as well as off-road riding.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Teaser – What Do We See?
The brand uploaded a short clip, or reel, on its official Instagram handle. Though not a full-fledged teaser video, it does show a few bits about the bike. The short video shows the new Himalayan 450 wading through a stream, presumably in hilly regions of North India.
There are also other Himalayans behind it. However, it is instantly noticeable that while all the Himalayans behind it have halogen headlights, the Himalayan 450 uses a circular LED headlight. It also shows the short windscreen, which will help with wind buffeting at higher speeds.
Royal Enfield has not mentioned the name of the bike. However, the caption for the video says ‘Testing 1, 2, 3..’. This is a clear indicator that the brand has started with high-altitude testing of the adventure motorcycle.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – What Do We Know?
The biggest changes in the new Himalayan 450 will be its engine and chassis. The Himalayan 450 is expected to use the K1 platform from Royal Enfield. As for the engine, it will get a new 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor. The adventure motorcycle will also benefit from a ride-by-wire throttle. Though there is no confirmation, sources suggest the engine will make about 40 BHP and 45 Nm of torque. The brand will also equip it with a 6-speed gearbox.
It will continue to use wire-spoke wheels, but the suspension will be different. Rumours suggest the Himalayan 450’s upside-down forks will be by Kayaba. Additionally, ground clearance will also likely be more than the current Himalayan.
