The hatchback also gets Dual Front Airbags, Seat Belt Reminder, Speed Alert, Speed Sensing Door Lock and Seat Belt Load Limiter with a pretension on the driver’s side as standard on the range.

What Is The Renault Kwid?

The Renault Kwid arrived in the Indian market in 2015. This is the entry-level model in the French brand’s line-up. Inspired by an SUV-type body style, Kwid was an instant success for the carmaker. According to the company, it has sold over 4.4 lakh units of the Kwid since its launch.

The Renault Kwid comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. This motor puts out 67 BHP at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The engine comes mated with two engine options. First, a 5-speed manual and the second is a 5-speed AMT.

Launched at the time of the SUV boom, Kwid found a lot of takers in the country. The impactful stance of the SUV-inspired hatchback saw a fair share of takers. At that time, there weren’t many other options to compete against. And hence, the lack of competition pushed more customers towards the Renault showroom. With automatics getting increasingly popular, customers found Kwid AMT’s option a great alternative to the manual. And hence, the automatic-looking customers too were happy with Kwid’s AMT gearbox offering.
