Renault Kwid crosses 3.5 lakh sales milestone, new 1.0L RXL variant priced at INR 4.16 lakh onwards

Without any doubt, the Renault Kwid is the most good looking budget car money can buy here in the Indian market. This small hatchback has changed the fortunes for Renault in India and the brand has now revealed that the cumulative sales for the Kwid has crossed the 3.5 lakh milestone. To celebrate this success story, Renault has now introduced a new 1.0L RXL variant for the Kwid which has been priced at INR 4.16 lakh ex-showroom for the manual and INR 4.48 lakh ex-showroom for the AMT variant. Of course, these new variants are BS6 compliant and also make the car more accessible for potential buyers. Renault has so far achieved 98% localisation for the Kwid which is a testament to the brands Make in India initiative. Online bookings are now open.

Powering the Renault Kwid 1.0L RXL MT & AMT is a 999cc, 3-cylinder, SCe petrol motor producing 68 PS of power and 91 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual or automatic manual gearbox. Renault also has a baseline engine which is a 799cc, 3-cylinder block producing 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque. The Renault Kwid is a 5-seater entry-level hatchback which rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto, Datsun redi-GO, etc. As seen in the pictures below, the new RXL variant will come with contrast silver painted rear view mirrors and a side body sticker on the front as well as rear door with a ‘1.0’ decal hinting that this is the higher performance model. No alloy wheels on offer.

Renault has also introduced a Buy Now Pay Later scheme where a customer can drive home in a Renault and pay their EMIs 3 months after the purchase. Finance rates are as low as 8.25% along with other cash discounts, loyalty bonuses and exchange offers.
