Renault India donates 5 cars to CSC to upskill people

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Renault India announces its collaboration with CSC e-Governance Services to support Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan. This is the central government’s flagship programme that aims to provide digital literacy to six crore rural citizens. As part of this collaboration, Renault India has handed over five cars to CSC e-Governance Services.

These vehicles will help to upskill people in rural and semi-urban areas across India. This will enhance their vocational and professional skills. The Government of India plans to cover close to 600 grampanchayats in a year. This is a significant step in rural integration with the government’s aim of strengthening the rural economy.

How Will This Partnership Be Beneficial?

The main aim of this partnership is to empower the citizens in rural areas by training them to operate computers or digital devices. With this, they can browse the internet, access Government websites and banking services and undertake digital payments. Renault will have a significant role to play in this. These cars will participate in distributing information on learning courses and support the CSC teams.

Furthermore, Renault will also help the CSC teams in conducting training to impart financial and digital skills in the rural areas. This is a great initiative to enable them to actively participate in the process of transforming India into a digitally empowered society. The Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) will make use of these cars to spread awareness of the Covid-19 related norms and restrictions.

Renault India Targeting The Rural India Market

With the growing economy, there’s a significant demand for four-wheelers in the rural market. And Renault India wants to make the most out of it. The company has already announced a slew of rural-centric initiatives that aim to make Reanult a household name. With initiatives like these, the company will make a name and win the trust of the customers. Last year, Renault had partnered with CSC Grameen eStore, which is a subsidiary of CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. This move helped Renault to strengthen its rural presence and move closer to customers in remote areas.
