Porsche launches 718 Cayman GT4 & 718 Spyder in India

Porsche has launched the Porsche 718 Spyder at INR 1.59 crore ex-showroom, India and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 at INR 1.63 crore ex-showroom, India. The German supercar brand already sells the 718 Cayman starting from INR 85.95 lakh ex-showroom, India and the 718 Boxster priced starting INR 89.95 lakh ex-showroom, India. The Porsche 718 range rivals the Jaguar F-Type and the BMW Z4 in the Indian market.

Both the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 and the 718 Spyder are powered by a 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated six-cylinder Horizontally opposed and centrally positioned engine with direct fuel injection (DFI), integrated dry-sump lubrication, adaptive cylinder control, a variable intake manifold with switchable resonance valves provides the engine with optimum ventilation that generates 420 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission, which is 35 PS more than the predecessor helping both the 718 Cayman GT4 and the 718 Spyder from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of more than 300 kmph. 

Both the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 and the 718 Spyder feature the same chassis developed by the Porsche’s GT division and comes with Adaptive GT sports suspension, a lightweight spring-strut axle on the front and rear with additional reinforcements and helper springs as well as specific wheel mounts, streamlined ball joints and comes with adjustable height, camber, toe angle and the anti-roll bars for the race track. Both the Cayman GT4 and the Spyder also feature Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM), ABS, ESC and Traction Control.

On the interiors, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 features a titanium finish dial face with a ‘GT4’ logo, ‘GT4’ logos on the headrests and the door pull loops. The 718 Spyder comes with a ‘Spyder’ logo in the centre of the rev counter, ‘Spyder’ logo on the headrests, as well as the door pull loops and both include the typical 718 instruments cluster with three round instruments, Chrono package on the dashboard and a high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen display with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and integrated smartphone apps such as Apple Car Play.
