Pininfarina Battista electric hyper GT debuts in India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Mahindra-owned Pininfarina has officially made its debut in India. The hypercar Battista was showcased at the ongoing Hyderabad E-Motor Show.

Battista was globally revealed in early 2019. This is a limited-run hypercar described as “the most powerful road-legal Italian car ever built”. This all-electric Battista makes 1,900hp from its quad motor powertrain. The top speed too speaks for itself and reflects upon the performance at 350 kmph.

With the increase in demand for EVs in the market, car makers are now expanding their reach to hyper segment as well. Battista is one such example, that paves the way for more such options in the near future.

Battista Unlikely For Indian Launch

Indian launch chances are very bleak, although the Battista showcased in Hyderabad had the Indian tricolour flag livery at the rear. But, the car is merely for display and it is highly unlikely that it will arrive to the Indian shores.

Pininfarina Battista Technical Details

A s mentioned above, the Battista features a quad-motor set-up, which is one on each wheel. Adding all it makes 1,900 HP and 2,300Nm of torque. As per Pininfarina the hypercar can do 0-100 kmph in under 2 seconds. And 0-300 kmph comes in less than 12sec. A 120kWh battery powers the motor that enable the EV hypercar to go a distance of 500km on a single charge.

We understand the Battista is primarily for left-hand drive markets. As of now only 150 units of it will make it onto the roads. The price tag comes in at over $2.2 million that translates to over INR 18 crore.

Pininfarina Battista Rivals

Battista is a part of a very niche segment, where we do not have much options. Currently, the Pininfarina hypercar takes on the likes of the Rimac’s Nevera. This supercar  shares its powertrain with the Battista. And we have the 2,000 HP Lotus Evija which will most likely go on sale this year.
