Back in August 2022, Mahindra showcased its Born Electric Concept SUV range in the UK. Now, these have been  once again displayed on the occasion of the maiden Formula E Hyderabad E-Prix.

Mahindra’s BE range of SUVs – Rall-E Concept

Mahindra revealed two versions of the BE.05 SUV. This includes the normal version as well as the BE.05 Rall-E. As the name implies, it is an off-road based electric concept. The BE.05 that it is based on measures 4370 mm long, 1900 wide and is 1635 mm tall. The wheelbase of the SUV is 2775 mm. Mahindra calls it the Sports Electric Vehicle (SEV). It is a racing inspired bold design that is aided by multi-sensory experience. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal unveiled this car.

Mahindra has made the Rall-E concept to showcase the 4WD prowess of the all-electric INGLO platform. The SUV also builds up on Mahindra’s ‘Exploring the Impossible’ philosophy as well.

Mahindra’s INGLO platform

All the new Born Electric range of SUVs are based on the all-new INGLO platform. Amongst others, the platform makes use of the Blade and Prismatic cell architectures to ensure a optimised range.

One of the many benefits of this platform include fast charging. Mahindra says the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Further, a 0-100 km/h time is around 5-6 seconds ensuring that the car offers maximum performance.

Mahindra has also focused on the safety areas including giving the SUVs features like fortified passenger cabin and a slew of ADAS features amongst others.

While exact details of the car were not released, we know that the INGLO platform is developed with the Volkswagen Group. Hence it shares many parts of the VW’s ME platform. It is currently amongst the lightest skateboard platforms and will benefit from the usage of high-density batteries.

Mahindra also said that these SUVs will come with features like an augmented head-up display, 5G network and OTA updates. The interiors will have edge to edge screens.
