Ola has announced that the brand will be increasing the prices of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter in the Indian market. The Ola S1 Pro electric scooter currently comes with a price tag of INR 1,29,999 lakh ex-showroom. The brand revealed that the price hike would follow in the next booking window, which is likely to open in April 2022. Bhavish Agarwal, the CEO of Ola Electric, confirmed the same through the micro-blogging site Twitter. The head honcho also mentions that the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter has been “Selling Out in Hyper Mode”. The last purchase window was open between 17th March and 20th March when the brand also introduced the Gerua colour options on the occasion of Holi.
Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooter – Highlights
The Ola S1 Pro electric scooter comes with an 8.5 kW electric motor. The motor is paired to a 3.97 kWh battery which is capable of providing a top speed of 115 kmph. The battery is also capable of offering a range of 181 km on a single charge. The brand also claims that the Ola S1 Pro can sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3 seconds. At a fast charger, the S1 Pro can achieve a 75 km range charge in less than 18 minutes. The electric scooter comes packed with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen with microphones and an in-house-developed AI speech recognition system. Also, the Ola S1 Pro comes with Cruise Control, Geo-Fencing, GPS/Bluetooth/Wifi Connectivity, Anti-Theft System, Reverse Mode, Proximity Lock, and receiving calls/texts.
Ola Electric Car
Ola could also be planning to introduce an electric car in the Indian market soon. The brand CEO, through Twitter, revealed a rendered concept car that could be the brand’s future EV. Currently, no technical information regarding the EV is available. However, speculations are that Ola could launch the electric vehicle as soon as 2023.
