Gurugram-headquartered electric mobility company Okinawa has launched the ‘R30’ all-electric scooter in India at the price of INR 58,992 ex-showroom. The brand has opened pre-bookings for the Okinawa R30 at INR 2,000. The Okinawa R30 is positioned in the brand’s low-speed e-scooter category and is the second low-speed lithium-ion battery-powered e-scooter from Okinawa.
In terms of design and styling, the Okinawa R30 features a front apron mounted headlamp unit with a gloss black applique on top of it, a unique handlebar shroud integrated parking lamps with turn signal indicators, wide seats that accommodate a rider and pillion, a generous floorboard, R30 body graphics, pillion grab handlebar, wraparound taillamp unit integrated with turn indicators, aluminium alloy brake levers, aluminium alloy wheel shod in 3.00-10 Tubeless (Front/Rear) Tyres and digital instrumentation.
In terms of mechanical hardware the Okinawa R30 features an underbone chassis that rides on a set of telescopic fork front suspension, twin coil spring assisted hydraulic dampers with dual-tube technology on the rear and internally expanding mechanical drum brakes on both the front and rear equipped with E-ABS (Electronic- Assisted Braking System) with regenerative energy. The Okinawa R30 is 1725mm in length, 695mm in width and 1080mm in height, 160mm of the ground clearance and the e-scooter comes with a very accessible seat height of 735mm and has the ability to carry up to 150 kg of load.
The Okinawa R30 e-scooter is powered by a 48V, 250 Watt, BLDC motor couple to a 1.25 kWh Lithium-ion Detachable Battery with an onboard Micro-Charger with Auto Cut Function that can recharge the e-scooter in 4-5 hours and returns a range of around 60 km on a single charge. The R30 can do a top speed of 25 kmph.
Okinawa is also offering a 3 Years warranty on the battery pack and a 3 Years or 30,000 Km warranty on the electric motor. The Okinawa R30 is available in 5 colour options – Pearl White, Glossy Red, Metallic Orange, Sunrise Yellow and Sea Green.
