Okinawa Autotech shares a great milestone achievement. It has become the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer to cross the 2.5 lakh unit production milestone. The EV maker achieved the same in just 6 years. It launched its first electric scooter, the Okinawa Ridge, back in 2017.
The company rolled out its 250,000th unit, which was the popular Praise Pro model from its manufacturing plant in Rajasthan. Okinawa mentioned that its electric two-wheelers have collectively saved approximately INR 12.5 billion worth of petrol costs. This results in saving 300.3 million kg of Carbon Dioxide. Okinawa also boasts the widest product portfolio. It also gets a wide 540+ 3S touchpoints offering after-sales service and enhanced customer connectivity.
Faster Adoption Of EVs Is The Target
Being one of the key and top EV makers, Okinawa’s key emphasis is on the faster adoption of electric mobility in India. The company aims at keeping sustainable mobility at the core of its value proposition. Thus their aim is to establish a benchmark in reliability and quality standards. This great milestone marks a stepping-stone to many more accolades they are targeting for the future. In fact, the company has also lined up a strong pipeline of new products. These new products will soon arrive in the Indian market. The ambitious market for Okinawa is to achieve the magical number of One Million milestone by 2025.
Okinawa’s Plans For The Future
In line with the target, Okinawa recently announced the inauguration of its first Research and Development centre in Italy, Europe. This comes in association with its joint venture partner Tacita with a total investment of 25 million euros. The partnership’s key area of focus is on the new product development and upgrading the existing product portfolio. They also have plans in developing an all-new e-powertrain to support the next generation of products. The company also talked about its plans to unveil its first electric cruiser motorcycle very soon.
