Okinawa Autotech opens 2nd manufacturing plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan

Okinawa Autotech, in an attempt to increase its production, added its second manufacturing plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. This plant will take up the responsibility to develop the upcoming ingenious products – including Oki90. Okinawa mentions that the facility is one of the top-notch manufacturing facilities with infrastructure and machinery. The EV maker posted double-digit growth last year, with demand increasing further as we write this. And the plant is fully ready for the upcoming demand for EVs in the country.

What Does This New Manufacturing Facility Target?

This new production capacity will enable Okinawa Autotech to not only meet soaring demand in India but also for exports across the world. The annual capacity of this manufacturing facility is set at 3 lakh electric vehicles. And the plan is to eventually increase the capacity to 1 million in the next 2-3 years. This is over 5 times that of the current full capacity of the plant located in Alwar, Rajasthan. The company will invest close to INR 250 Cr in the development of its new facilities.

And going forward, it will make further gradual strategic investments to scale up the production. To enable the best service, Okinawa Autotech is hiring industry-best talent for next-level innovation at its manufacturing facility. A total of over 250 people across various functional areas will be recruited. Given the rising demand for electric scooters, the company has a well-knit dealership network with over 400 centres. They have their presence in metro cities as well as tier 2, tier 3 and rural markets in India. The recently added state-of-the-art experience centres in Dehradun and Jaipur is a testimony to Okinawa’s Dedication.

Other Updates

Okinawa breached the 1,00,000 units sales figure for the Indian market in 2021. This is quite an achievement for a relatively new company like Okinawa. The company has a lot of takeaway points from this. The sales figure also speaks volumes of the customers’ trust, which Okinawa has won. Taking this as motivation, Okinawa aims to build on this and further add more products to its portfolio.
