Okinawa bags sales milestone of 1,00,000 units in the Indian market in 2021

Okinawa Autotech, one of India’s emerging electric two-wheeler manufacturers, has now clinched the 1,00,000 milestone in 2021. The two-wheeler manufacturer mentioned that they recently crossed the 1 lakh sales figure in the domestic market in 2021. This figure includes both of its high-speed and low-speed scooters.

The company particularly mentioned that the locally manufactured iPraise+ and Praise Pro are its top-sellers. Both the scooters accounted for almost 60 to 70 per cent of the yearly sales. To match customer aspirations, Okinawa is expanding its network to new regions. As of today, the company has its presence in major cities, including tier-2 and tier-3 cities and rural markets as well. The total dealership count today stands at close to 400 points.

Okinawa Galaxy Experience Centers

Recently Okinawa announced the launch of a state-of-the-art experience centre in Uttarakhand. In this, customers can get a first-hand experience of the products and also know the story behind its making. Furthermore, customers can also learn more about the working of an EV and how it is beneficial over its ICE counterparts. This centre does provide an interactive space for the customers to get to know more about Okinawa since its inception. The company has plans to open over 50 such Galaxy Stores across India in the coming year.

Okinawa Plans For The Future

Given the rising demand for electric vehicles in the country, Okinawa has some big plans for the future. In the scooter segment, e-mobility is finally picking up pace. As of today, a customer has a plethora of options to choose from. Along with this, many foreign players are also entering the market, making it even more competitive.

Okinawa is a major player in this segment and has set up plans to invest around INR 500 crore for the next three years. The company confirmed that a sum of INR 250 crore would be invested in the first year and gradually increased over the coming years. The company also aims to achieve 100 per cent localization, including battery cells. Okinawa has confirmed that it will launch its all New High-Speed Scooter next year in the First Quarter of the following year.
