Hyundai Motor Company is gearing up for the launch of the next-generation Venue, as spy shots of the compact SUV testing in Korea have surfaced online. The heavily camouflaged test mule reveals significant updates to the design and features, hinting at Hyundai’s efforts to keep the Venue competitive.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue – what to expect?

The next-gen Venue retains its boxy proportions but introduces sharper design elements. The front fascia features a split headlamp setup and a wider grille with rectangular patterns, giving the SUV a more aggressive stance. Parking sensors and an ADAS module are visible on the front bumper, suggesting that higher variants will include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The side profile showcases new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, thicker cladding above the wheel arches, and redesigned wing mirrors. The rear design includes connected LED tail lamps and a longer roof spoiler, adding a sporty touch. All four wheels are equipped with disc brakes, a feature currently exclusive to the Venue N Line variants.

While the interior wasn’t fully visible in the spy shots, reports suggest a completely redesigned cabin with a dual-screen layout similar to the facelifted Creta. Features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and larger infotainment screens are expected to be part of the package. Hyundai is also likely to enhance material quality and introduce new creature comforts.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue expected powetrain

Mechanically, the next-gen Venue is anticipated to retain the current model’s engine lineup. This includes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 120 hp, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 83 hp, and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine generating 100 hp. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Production of the next-gen Venue is set to commence at Hyundai’s Talegaon plant in Maharashtra by late 2025, with the India launch expected in October. The SUV will compete with rivals like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza, aiming to strengthen Hyundai’s position in the compact SUV segment.
