German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that it has begun the production of its Tiguan SUV at its Aurangabad plant. Volkswagen has also stated its commitment to launching four new SUVs alongside the Tiguan by the end of December 2021. With an arrival date set for 7th December 2021, prospective customers can register themselves on Volkswagen’s official website.
2021 Volkswagen Tiguan: Design Details
Built on the renowned MQB platform, the new Volkswagen Tiguan features increased dynamic proportions to showcase its SUV credentials. At the front, the SUV now sports a fresh new grille with 4-layer Chrome lines with LED headlamps. Additionally, Volkswagen has also implemented LED DRLs and LED cornering lights within the headlamps along with a refreshed bumper.
Towards the sides, the SUV features sharper shoulder lines with new 18-inch Frankfurt design alloy wheels. To complete the look, the Tiguan sports dark red LED tail lights with a chrome strip across the rear bumper. Other elements include an exhaust chrome piece on the bumper, roof rails, and an integrated roof spoiler.
2021 Volkswagen Tiguan: Powertrain Details
Powering the new Tiguan is the globally renowned 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, TFSI petrol engine producing 190 PS and 320 Nm. Along with pairing the engine to a 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox, Volkswagen has also implemented its new 4MOTION technology. This allows the 5-seater SUV to showcase a strong acceleration while providing fun and safety for the driver in charge.
2021 Volkswagen Tiguan: Interiors & Features
For the new updated Tiguan, Volkswagen has refreshed the interiors by introducing Premium Vienna leather seats and illuminated scuff plates. Additionally, the Tiguan now sports several interior chrome elements and 30-coloured ambient lighting along with a large panoramic sunroof. The SUV gets a digital driver’s display with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Along with new touch-sensitive controls for the 3-zone automatic AC, the Tiguan gets an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with 3-memory settings. Volkswagen offers the Tiguan with 6 airbags, ABS, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System in terms of safety. Other safety features include a Hill Start Assist with Descent Control and Auto-Hold technology along with a driver alert system.
