Triumph has launched the new Street Triple range of motorbikes in India. The 2023 Street Triple 765 R and the Street Triple 765 RS have been priced onwards of INR 10,16,640 and INR 11,81,410 respectively. That said, the British bike maker is not offering us the Moto2 limited edition variant of these bikes.
What’s new in the 2023 Triumph Street Triple R?
Triumph has updated the styling as well as the features of the Street Triple for 2023. The bike now gets a design that is inspired from the larger Street Triple 1200 RS. This includes a twin-pod headlamp, aggressive design body work, 15-litre fuel tank and more. The bike also gets a gullwing swingarm and radiator cowls.
The higher RS variant gets some extra features as well. These include a body coloured belly pan, swappable pillion seat with a cowl and a lower chain guard. In terms of paint options, the Street Triple R is available in Crystal White and Silver Ice while the Street Triple RS comes in Silver Ice, Carnival Red or Cosmic Yellow.
The Triumph Street Triple 765 range comes with all-LED lighting, TCS which is lean sensitive, cornering ABS, combi braking system and a bi-directinoal wheelie control.
Hardware differences between 2023 Street Triple R and RS
While the stock brakes are Showa 41mm separate function front forks and Showa piggyback reservoir mono-shock at the back, the RS gets better components. The Street Triple RS comes with Showa 41mm upside-down down Big Piston Forks (BPF) at the front and a rear Ohlins STX40 piggyback reservoir monoshock.
The RS also gets dual 310mm floating discs with Brembo Stylema four-piston callipers at the front and a single 220mm disc at the back. Meanwhile, the R gets twin 310mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial callipers and a 310 mm rear disc brake.
Powertrain of the new 2023 Street Triple bikes in India
While Triumph has retained the 765cc, inline 3-cylinder engine, the bikes now make more power. The Street Triple R develops 118.4 BHP @ 11,500 rpm and a max torque of 80 Nm @ 9,500 rpm. Meanwhile, the RS variant develops slightly more power – 128.2 BHP @ 12,000 rpm and the same torque.
The R gets four ride modes – Road, Rain, Sport, and Rider while the RS comes with an additional Track mode. The RS also gets a lap timer, 5-inch TFT display and a Bluetooth module.
